I’m a 46-year-old Latina from Pasadena, raised in the glorious chaos of ’80s and ’90s Los Angeles. Growing up in Black and Latino communities earns me the proclamation “started from the bottom, now we’re here.”
I spent 16 glorious years in Laguna Beach raising my two oldest while working for an org. serving youth and their families. I remarried, started over with two new additions, moved to Tucson, earned an MBA, kicked imposter syndrome’s ass, and somehow found my way back to me.
I’m a little salty, a little sweet, culturally curious, and usually somewhere between grunge and a business suit. People know me by my big smile.
I love smart movies (and Ghostbusters), mystery novels, rock, soul, synth, Asian food, a good whiskey sour, and people who laugh with their whole bodies.
My imaginary superpower is people remembering who they are and that they are loved with one touch. Right now, I’m practicing that on myself. Dancing helps.
